Usage Tracker
Local-first Chrome, Edge, and Firefox extension

Understand ChatGPT and Codex usage at a glance.

ChatGPT & Codex Usage Tracker adds visible-token estimates, next-send estimates, allowance renewals and alerts, trends, and privacy-safe diagnostics directly to ChatGPT and a compact extension popup.

Before-you-send estimates

See visible conversation length and estimated next-send input size, including before the first message.

Allowance and renewals

View first-party Codex percentages and countdowns, with an optional alert when weekly quota renews—even before its reported date.

Local history

Keep numeric message and token trends in browser-managed local extension storage with JSON/CSV export controls.

Transparent controls

Choose the page position, configure quota and renewal alerts independently, and inspect privacy-safe diagnostic logs.

Before installing: visible ChatGPT communications and website content are processed temporarily to calculate estimates but are not stored. Authentication information is used only for first-party ChatGPT allowance requests. Chrome classifies this local processing as data handling, but no data is sent to KC-IT or the developer.

Honest about accuracy

ChatGPT does not expose all hidden context or a supported complete per-message usage API to browser extensions. Local visible-text token figures are therefore labelled estimates. Codex percentage and renewal values are first-party values when available, and weighted allowance is never converted into a token ceiling.

The extension only reports usage. It does not bypass, reset, automate around, or modify ChatGPT/Codex limits or other platform safeguards.
